Most pricing "benchmarks" are surveys. This log is measured: 50 dated repricing events extracted from commit history across 115 companies that keep their price list in code. The median measured increase is 14.9% and the median cut is -13.9%, against an industry-reported median of 7.8% per year (Zylo 2026). Structural changes — restructuring the ladder or changing model entirely — outnumber simple increases. Updated August 2026.

Buyers report a review roughly every 18 months and a median list increase near 7.8% per year. Measured directly from repositories, increases are smaller and rarer than restructures: in this log, 8 of 50 events are straight increases.
A move between structures — seats to usage, flat to metered, paid to freemium. In the log these show up as price drops above 60%, which almost never means the product got cheaper: the unit being charged for changed.
Raise when your entry tier sits below your category median and your churn is not price-driven. Restructure instead of raising when the complaint is unpredictability rather than the absolute number.
Prices held in public source repositories are diffed across commits. Only changes with matched plan pairs are classified. It is a lower bound: companies that keep prices in a CMS are invisible to this method.
