    Startup submission checklist FAQ

How many startup directories should I submit to?

Start with 20. The first 20 high-authority, low-risk destinations capture almost all of the referral traffic, brand-search lift and link equity available from directory submissions. Beyond that, returns fall off fast and you are mostly filling forms on sites nobody reads.

What order should I submit my startup in?

Highest authority and strictest review first, while your launch assets are fresh and you have energy to write good copy. This checklist puts Tier 1 destinations in week 1 and the faster volume submissions in week 2.

    Is the submission checklist free?

Yes. It costs zero credits. You only need a free IdeaProof account so your progress can be saved to your profile and restored on any device.

Does it track which submissions went live?

Every row has four states — Not started, Submitted, Live and Rejected — plus a field for the live listing URL and a note. The header tallies how many are live and how much authority you have earned so far.

    Can I regenerate the list?

Yes. Change your product type, budget or goal and hit Rebuild. The list is deterministic, so the same answers always produce the same 20 in the same order.
